This is how you find your wedding colors!

“What colors should our wedding decorations be?” “What colors can we use at the wedding?” or “What colors should we choose for the wedding invitations?” – these questions keep cropping up when you are just starting to plan your wedding. And for good reason! Colors play a crucial role in the atmosphere of your big day. They convey the desired mood, reflect your personality and ensure that all the details fit together harmoniously.

If you are still unsure about which color concept suits you best, you have come to the right place. I would like to introduce you to three strategies for finding the colors that perfectly reflect your personality and your vision for the big day. Because it's not about following the current wedding trends, but about making an individual decision that suits you!

The easy way: Browse through “finished” color concepts

Are you just starting out and open to anything? Then this strategy is perfect for you! Browse through the color boards that are plentiful on Pinterest and gather inspiration. Create your own Pinterest board and save color combinations that appeal to you. Take a close look at the colors and think about which ones might suit you and your wedding. Also think about the time of year and the location of your wedding - this can help you make your decision.

Step by step: choosing your wedding colors

This method requires a little more planning, but it's very effective! Choose a primary color that reflects your personality and fits the season of your wedding. Then, choose a secondary color that works well with the primary color. Complete your color scheme with a neutral color and optionally a metallic color. Remember to include different brightnesses to create contrast. And if you want to add more colors, choose shades of existing colors to create a harmonious overall look.

Postpone the decision: first a mood board, then the colors

Sometimes it's best to just let things happen! Create a mood board and collect images that reflect your vision for your wedding. Get inspiration from the colors in the images and see which ones appeal to you the most. Use digital tools or color cards from the hardware store to identify the colors and develop your color concept.

No matter which strategy you choose, it is important that the colors suit you and your wedding. Let your personality, your preferences and your vision guide you. Because at the end of the day, your wedding is a reflection of you as a couple - and that should also be reflected in the colors.
