How much does a custom stationery set for our wedding cost?
Individual stationery also means an individual price. Every wedding is different and every couple has different ideas and the possibilities are so diverse. For this reason
For this reason, it is not possible to provide a fixed price list. However, we can still give you a guideline:
On average, a bride and groom invest between €500 and €5,000 in their individual complete set, which ranges from save the date cards to invitations and menu cards to other components for the big day and thank you cards.
How are the prices calculated?
The costs depend on many factors: e.g. graphics, size and type of cards, printing costs and material costs (paper, envelopes and finishing touches such as wax seals, silk ribbons, calligraphy, gold leaf, etc.). Please keep in mind that our stationery is handmade and individually produced, which requires a lot of time and effort.
We want you to decide with your heart and consciously choose our style. It is therefore very important that you have an approximate budget for the stationery at the beginning of our planning so that we can advise you in the respective price segment in terms of paper, finishing and printing technology and together we can find the best possible solution for you.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Yes, the minimum order quantity is 25 pieces for Save the Date / invitation cards.
What do we NOT get at Butterfly Designs?
If you want calligraphy with gold ink or very colorful and playful designs, you should continue your search for a designer, because we do not currently offer these things.
Individual stationery
What lead times do we need to consider for stationery?
Depending on capacity, a lead time of 2-3 months is required for individual stationery until the first product is dispatched, and a lead time of 4-5 weeks is required for design collections.
As soon as you have a wedding date, you can contact us. Because in order to roughly plan the stationery, not all the details have to be decided yet.
Does all the stationery have to be ordered at once?
No, of course not. You can order your stationery in several steps, starting with the save the date card and ending with the thank you card - everything in its own time.
Can we order samples?
You can see a lot of our work here on the website and on Instagram. Since we offer an individual design service, each sample piece is a kind of preliminary work for the development of your stationery and takes a lot of time. Therefore, we do not offer personalized samples. Please understand this!
When are Save the Date cards useful?
If you are planning a destination wedding (wedding abroad), you should definitely include save the date cards. This way, your guests have enough lead time to book flights etc. and possibly plan a longer stay.
In principle, you can also send save the date cards for weddings in Germany if you really want to make sure that your loved ones are there. Especially if your wedding is to take place during the holiday season.
Can I order stationery in multiple languages?
Of course, you can order the stationery in several languages, provided you provide us with the texts. A small processing fee is charged per language, which includes the inclusion of the respective language in the layout.
Are our texts checked and corrected for errors and spelling?
If we notice something, we will bring it to your attention, but it is your sole responsibility to ensure that the texts are correct. Please understand that we cannot accept any liability for any spelling mistakes or errors in your texts. We therefore recommend that you have a third person read your draft file and check it for errors.
Generally
We already have a design. Can you print it for us?
Unfortunately, we do not accept orders for printing only. Due to capacity reasons, this is not possible, so we only print our own designs.
Do you also produce stationery for other occasions and events?
Yes, we'd love to! Whether it's a birthday party, christening, thank you cards after the birth, company events and much more - we love creative work! We're here to help and advise you. Just send us a message.
Can we clarify any open questions over the phone?
Of course! Write us a message and we will arrange a short-term appointment.
How (much) can or should we contribute?
As much or as little as you like!
However, individual stationery depends on your involvement and our collaboration will not work if you are not at least willing to give regular feedback on the designs. We are always very happy when you have your own ideas and let your creativity run wild. The more you get involved, the more personal and unique your stationery will be!
We don't live nearby - is cooperation still possible?
In any case, you can commission us even if you don't live nearby. Butterfly Designs ships throughout Europe.
Printing & Materials
What options are there regarding printing and materials?
We mainly work with digital printing and hot foil printing. Our papers come from carefully selected paper manufacturers and are perfectly tailored to the respective printing techniques.

What exactly is Day-of / daily stationery?
The so-called day-of stationery includes all the stationery elements that you will need on the day of the event. These include welcome signs, daily schedule signs, seating plans, menu cards, drink menus, marriage certificates, marriage vow booklets, etc. All of these small details round off the overall concept perfectly.
What are assemblies?
The term “assembly” refers to additional steps that need to be taken to bring your digital design with all its details into the analogue world. In addition to printing, this includes attaching ribbons, casting seals, attaching stamps and preparing for shipping. To save costs, you have the option of doing this yourself.
