This is how you find your wedding colors!
“What colors should our wedding decorations be?” “What colors can we use at the wedding?” or “What colors should we choose for the wedding invitations?” – these questions keep cropping up when you are just starting to plan your wedding. And for good reason! Colors play a crucial role in the atmosphere of your big day. They convey the desired mood, reflect your personality and ensure that all the details fit together harmoniously. If you are still unsure about which color concept suits you best, you have come to the right place. I would like to introduce you to three strategies for finding the colors that perfectly reflect your personality and your vision for the big day. Because it's not about following the current wedding trends, but about making an individual decision that suits you! The easy way: Browse through “finished” color concepts Are you just starting out and open to anything? Then this strategy is perfect for you! Browse through the color boards that are plentiful on Pinterest and gather inspiration. Create your own Pinterest board and save color combinations that appeal to you. Take a close look at the colors and think about which ones might suit you and your wedding. Also think about the time of year and the location of your wedding - this can help you make your decision. Step by step: choosing your wedding colors This method requires a little more planning, but it's very effective! Choose a primary color that reflects your personality and fits the season of your wedding. Then, choose a secondary color that works well with the primary color. Complete your color scheme with a neutral color and optionally a metallic color. Remember to include different brightnesses to create contrast. And if you want to add more colors, choose shades of existing colors to create a harmonious overall look. Postpone the decision: first a mood board, then the colors Sometimes it's best to just let things happen! Create a mood board and collect images that reflect your vision for your wedding. Get inspiration from the colors in the images and see which ones appeal to you the most. Use digital tools or color cards from the hardware store to identify the colors and develop your color concept. No matter which strategy you choose, it is important that the colors suit you and your wedding. Let your personality, your preferences and your vision guide you. Because at the end of the day, your wedding is a reflection of you as a couple - and that should also be reflected in the colors. Photo: Anna Kuhn

It is also important that your contact details are listed on the card. When is the wedding taking place? If possible, enter not only the date but also the times for the ceremony, champagne reception and the start of the party. It is best to invite your guests to the ceremony a little earlier so that there are no delays. Where will the wedding take place? It is best to give the exact address of the registry office/church. This will make it easier for your guests to find the location - especially if they are not familiar with the area. And most importantly, don't forget to include a response time so you can keep track of guest numbers. What should our wedding invitation look like?
I know the dilemma all too well: Amidst the countless styles and options for wedding invitations and stationery, it's easy to lose track. But don't worry, I'm here to help you! When I consult with couples, I always notice how important it is to find your individual style. And that's exactly what I want to do with you today - help you discover the perfect style for your invitations, even if you design them yourself. Let's start with a crucial question: What suits you? Think about your home, your wardrobe, your personality. What are your preferences when it comes to interior design and fashion? These preferences can often be transferred to your wedding invitations. Fine materials, clear shapes, strong colors - let your personal preferences inspire you. Of course, don't forget the style of your planned wedding. The invitations should convey the vibe of your celebration in advance. Take into account the location, the time of year, the dress code and the service providers you have booked. After all, the stationery is the first thing your guests will hold in their hands in relation to your wedding, so it should also set the mood for your wedding. Start looking at pictures of different invitations (Pinterest!) and ask yourself whether they would fit into your overall concept. Take the location and the season of your wedding as a guide. Kraft card for rustic barn weddings, warm colors for autumn, floral motifs for spring and summer - let your surroundings inspire you. Another important point is the question of what goes together. Less is often more - think carefully about which elements you really need and whether they work harmoniously together. Also think about the practical aspects, such as the amount of text that should fit into your invitation. And last but not least: don't be afraid to experiment! A sketch can help you get clarity about the design, even if you are not a gifted draftsman. The most important step is often to visualize your ideas. So, get inspired, be creative and, above all, have fun designing your invitations. Because at the end of the day, they are a wonderful first impression of your big day and a beautiful memory! When do you send wedding invitations?
When I talk to couples, there is one question that comes up again and again: When is the right time to send out wedding invitations? The answer is as complex as love itself. Sure, invitations are usually sent out around 4-6 months before the big day. But let me tell you, there are no hard and fast rules. Some couples send out their invitations as late as 1-2 months before, while others send them out 8-10 months in advance. The perfect time depends on your individual circumstances. Let's start with the save-the-date card - a great way to let your loved ones know the date and make sure they can keep this special day free. Whether you opt for a formal card or communicate the date casually via WhatsApp or in person is entirely up to you. If you decide against save-the-date cards, it's even more important to send the invitations early, especially during the wedding season between May and September when dates often clash. Also think about your guests who have to travel from further afield. It is particularly useful for them to send out invitations early so that they can plan their travel and accommodation. You may even want to make recommendations for hotels near the location - particularly useful if you are staying there and want to meet up for the after-wedding brunch the next morning. Do you have guests from abroad? Be sure to take into account the longer delivery time for invitations. Deutsche Post has a practical website where you can find out how long a letter takes to reach the desired destination country. Plan for this time when you set the delivery time. Before you design the invitations, you should have all the important information in place - date, location, time and maybe even a rough schedule. Also remember to have your guests' addresses ready and ask your caterer when you need to submit the final guest list. Also consider whether you want to create a wedding website. If so, you can send out invitations even earlier and share more information later via the website. Such a website also has the advantage that you can share your wedding photos there later - more sustainable and practical than additional cards. After reading this far, you probably know that there is no clear answer to the above question. However, I hope that my tips will help you find the perfect time for you. Ultimately, the decision is yours! Photo: Butterfly Designs
